We met a little girl, by chance, but we believe it was fate.
A woman contacted us about wanting to gift a little girl a birthday party. She wanted to give this girl a party like she would have thrown her own daughter. Her daughter had passed away at a very young age and she felt the calling to find a deserving child to give a party to. When we shared this story with our Facebook fans and asked if anyone knew of a child that we could do this for, the response was overwhelming. We had to choose just one and the easiest thing to do was to choose the first person who contacted us.
Brandie Justus wrote us this:
My friends Jim and Amanda Hough, have 3 beautiful girls who put there house in Walla Walla up for sale and moved to Sequim where they rent a house because Jim got a new job. Their 4 year old Jocelin had been sick with flu like symptoms beginning of February, where she was being treated with the flu, on February 15, they were sent to Seattle for further testing secondary to their little girl was having no relief of symptoms. After many blood tests she was diagnosed with A.L.L acute lymphocytic leukemia. She had already been through a few procedures in this short week including a lumbar tap, a pic line and a round of chemo injection, she was released last night to join her family in the Ronald McDonald house- where she will be spending her 5th birthday on April 3, secondary to estimates length of stay will be 6-7 months. I know you are looking for someone in March but I would have to say a few more days would be worth the wait . Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
We contacted the family, called in some reinforcements from our friends at Menchie’s University Village and our official Princess Photographer, JW Photography and a fun birthday party was set up!
Jocelin and her family, managed to touch our hearts so greatly, that the Ice Queen continues to do amazing things for her. She calls her Joss Is Boss and we will continue to blog about their adventures. JW Photography has also started a series called ‘A Day In The Life’ and she is following Joss around to capture what she goes through on a daily basis….the good and the challenging.
We hope you will follow along and fall in love with Jocelin and her family, just like we have! If you would like to make a donation to the Hough family, they have a Go Fund Me account set up and you can make a donation by CLICKING HERE.
